The Occult, Drugs and YOU!
Yesterday I was working in a well known chat program when I met a lady who really caused me to take two steps back and re-assess a few things.Her knowledge of what is REALLY important made me cringe at my own ineptitude.
Let me start my saying :- "There are NO shortcuts to Spiritual Awareness!" Forget The Beatles, forget the Sixties, forget the Age of Aquarius, forget Woodstock.........DRUGS AND THE OCCULT DO NOT MIX!
I am not going to get into a debate about "some" drugs help...ALL drugs are best left well alone in everyday life, unless perscribed by a doctor, and ALL drugs should be left alone when mixing with The Occult.

As you work your Magick you will slowly learn to differentiate between intuition, inspiration, imagination and divination. This takes YEARS to achieve. For Goddess Sake!...Don't add the extra problems of hallucination and intoxication as well!
Drugs can kill! And when it's mixed with the Occult they kill quicker!
Lunatic Asylums around the world are crammed with those who have walked the Pagan Path before you and used drugs.
I will happily smoke cannabis to "enhance my abilities" the day it is issued to the R.A.F and/or Grand Prix racing drivers to improve their response times in combat/racing at Brands Hatch Let's get real folks!!!.......drugs screw the head!
I am a High Priest of a little Coven here in London. The other members of the Coven look to me as a serious Pagan, a Father, a Teacher, a Healer, a Friend. A sort of "Lighthouse" in the world of fear, darkness and pain we all walk each day. Each single member knows if they have a problem to come and chat with "Uncle Kai" over a cup of tea or a beer...I'll give solid advice and together we sort it...
Imagine turning up here at The Covenstead and I am out of my face on some illegal narcotic??!!??.....it won't happen!
The end message is...DON'T DO DRUGS. It won't help you in the least little bit. When working Magick you need a sharp mind, a fast reflex, rational thought and a clear head....all of these are effected by drugs
Your own safety, and the safety of those in your Circle are inversely proportional to the drugs in your system. I won't even allow a member in our "Cast" if they have had alcohol within the previous 72 hours, nicotine is allowed up until one hour before...how strict is that??!!??

If you ever falter or get weary, please think back to a British Witch you met in a chatroom, a father, a husband, a human being...who was deeply touched by your words, your knowledge, your compassion for others and the selfless sacrafice you so willingly give. Here I am, happily making a large and (hopefully) useful website for the Pagan Community, and I missed a main safety tip!!
All through this site are hints, tips, advice and techniques all dedicated to "Spiritual Advancement" and various Paths of "Witchery", and I missed a VERY serious aspect of the occult...and that is drug use by Pagans!

Here's a thought :- You are on the wrong Path, find a different Diety that doesn't stress you out!!!
